Hello, Could someone confirm the current situation/conditions for Permitted Earnings for entrepeneurs please?
i want to set up as a in independent counselling practitioner working from home, and to utilise my 14years of proessional experience. What are the rules concerning this with IB? I would welcome advice in the best approach to I.B. office to request permission to join the scheme. What should I be aware of and include in my letter?
Many thanks

Hi,
I was wondering
(a) Was the figure of £95 the amount net of tax and
(b) Are the earnings averaged over a time frame - i.e if illness varies and income £ 50 one week and £140 the next
(c) Are the earning the week money received?
(d) In terms of car expenses can an amount per mile be claimed - tax authorities accept 40P per mile as legitimate expense without profit
Sorry for all the questions - any help appreciated

Thanks

Ian

Hi have you read my article on Working Tax Credits?
http://www.disabilitymeansbusiness.com/latest-posts/working-tax-credits-financial-support-for-an-entrepreneur/

You really need to be speaking with someone at the job centre, but you could still be eligible for housing benefit

I wish 2 start up small event cafe at outdoor events. As this is seasonal and contractual my main worry is the payment of rent/council tax. how does housing benifit work if you have work for 2 weeks then none for 3 wks. Bearing in mind how slow applications can be. would my income support and DLA be affected? i have been trying to find someone to talk to and advise me that has specialist knowledge of disabled persons to no avail,
thanks
